Pumice is an extremely lightweight and porous igneous rock that forms during volcanic eruptions. The pores, also known as vesicles, are gas bubbles that had been trapped in the rock during the rapid cooling of a gas-rich magma. The substance cools so quickly that atoms in the melt are not able to arrange themselves into a crystalline structure. Thus, pumice is an amorphous volcanic glass known as “mineraloid”.
Pumice stones are widely known for their ability to painlessly remove dead skin and calluses from the body. Use pumice stones to assist in exfoliating and reviving dull skin. It is also said that if used every few days, pumice stones will aid in body hair removal.
