This beautiful cameo of a woman is carved into amethyst glass is said to be an Victorian Era depiction of the Goddess Artemis.

Artemis was the daughter of Zeus, twin to Apollo and is the revered Greek Goddess of the hunt. The bear was sacred to her as she ruled over wildlife and the natural world. She is also known as the Goddess Diana.
